Evaluating your pain and symptoms helps us develop the most effective treatment option for you. Patients may receive a complete physical work-up and a referral to a specialist for certain conditions. Other possible treatments include physical therapy and medication management. We will work with you to determine a treatment plan that suits your unique needs.

FAQ

What kind of practice do you have?

Minnesota Institute for Pain Management is a medical practice. We offer pain management services including injections, medications, and physical therapy. We are currently open Monday-Friday (not including some holidays).

Is it a chiropractic practice?

No it is not but we do work with chiropractic practices. Our physical therapy services may offer similar results for patients.

What do you do?

We enjoy helping our patients, by listening to their pain symptoms, and doing a proper examination. We review patient imaging if applicable and have the ability to order images if you need them. Our providers then discuss with you the likely pain sources or reasons for your pain and discuss treatment options. Based on that discussion we implement the treatment plan.

What imaging do we offer?

MRI of neck and low back or other areas as indicated.

Do you help with interpreter services?

Yes we do. MIPM provides services for Hmong, Spanish, and many more languages. Our clinic is bilingual. Make sure to provide details on which language the primary patient speaks if booking an appointment for someone else.

What is unique about you!

MIPM takes pride in not rushing the patient by listening intently. Our providers go the extra mile to spend time with the patient so that they fully understand treatment options. The patient makes a choice; we just provide you with the information. Such information may include surgical complications and other advisories depending on the individual’s case.

What kind of pain do you treat?

We treat most types of musculoskeletal pain that is in the neck and low back or mid back and even the larger joints like hip, knee, shoulder etc. We assess the individual needs for pain management and treat the underlying causes.

Do you treat Headaches?

We enjoy helping our patients, by listening to their pain symptoms, and doing a proper examination. We review Some headaches are caused by neck strain or back pain, and we assess this with our comprehensive clinical examination. Do you do botox injections?

We currently do not offer Botox injections or stem cell injections at either of our clinics.

Do you offer occipital nerve blocks?

Yes. We offer the nerve blocks in each of our clinics and have the ability to diagnose with years of experience.

Do you treat carpal tunnel syndrome?

We treat the non-surgical aspect of these complications, yes.

What medications do you prescribe?

Medications to help manage pain including non-narcotics, muscle relaxers, and narcotics.

Do you offer Medical Cannabis for Minnesota?

Yes, we have the ability to prescribe cannabis products through Minnesota’s Medical Cannabis program. There are some basic qualifications for patients currently, which our caregivers can provide or you can see more at: www.mn.gov/medicalcannabis.

Do you offer EMG?

Yes we have the ability to assess muscles and nerves with EMG testing. Electromyography is a technique for evaluating and recording the electrical activity produced by skeletal muscles and we do offer this in our clinics.

Why should I be seen at MIPM?

We enjoy helping the patients, by listening to their pain symptoms, and do a proper examination, review your imaging if you have had one or order if you need one. Our providers then discuss with you the likely pain sources or reasons for your pain and then discuss treatment options. Based on that discussion and with patient consent we will implement the treatment plan.

Do you see work related injury cases?

Yes, we have a lot of experience in treating patients with work related injuries, we know the common injuries and we know how the treatment is different for work-related injuries.

Do you take health insurance?

Yes we accept most types of health insurance.

Do you do injections?

Yes we do injections both in Burnsville and Roseville. Some of the injections that we offer include lumbar, epidural steroid injections, facet joint injections, and sacroiliac joint injections. Do you have physical therapy?

Minnesota Institute for Pain Management has physical therapy available at both locations in order to serve our patients best interests. We have plenty of excellent reviews for our PT in our testimonials section.

What are the side effects of injections?

Although rare, some side effects may be present depending on the patient’s medical conditions. We will discuss these when we meet you.

Do you treat cash patients?

Yes, we do offer services without discrimination of payment method.

Do you help with car accident cases?

Yes, we have a lot of experience in treating patients who have been in car accidents, we know the most common injuries and we know physical patient treatment may be different for accident-related injuries.
